Last Day of Cooking Class

Today was Katelyn's last day of her summer cooking class.
This has been such a fun treat for her and a huge Thank You to Mrs. P for putting it together.
Today Katelyn brought home her apron, recipe book and today's menu was monkey bread, a frosted cake, and delicious mini cheese cakes.
Thank you Mrs. P!!!

Mack's Haircut

Today Mack received a much needed haircut. Originally I wanted to grow it out, but it's just not as curly as it used to be. He needed a good freshening up so I called out the big guns.
Mini Marshmallows, Like 50!

Wings going every which direction.
Before:
And Now-What a handsome kid!
After:
Then we played in the backyard. He LOVES his new Tonka Truck from Grandma & Grandpa Nicoll
and I just love that he was playing with his Firefighter hat while wearing his fire Chief shirt :)
I just love my little guy!

Countdown to Halloween #4

I just realized I was suppose to be counting backwards in my Countdown to Halloween- Silly me! :)

Well, last nights dinner was Mummy dogs.
It was a quick one because Scott had class.
Isn't this pic kinda spooky? :)
Oh and when he got to school he checked his email, & you are never going to believe it. He recieved an invitation to Salt Lake City for the final round interview with the one and only Goldman Sachs. Wow, that really threw us off guard. Scott will leave the 1st or 2 week in November. WOW, Wish him luck! We still haven't heard back from Honeywell, and now that's a good thing because we want to see how this one goes.

No activity last night - bummer! I was looking for little straw hats to make scarecrows but can't find them anywhere. Any ideas where I can find some? I have tried Joann's & Michael's. Maybe I need to try Hobby Lobby.

Mack & I stayed home that night to clean the house and Katleyn went to uncle Caleb's football game. Oh and it was Caleb's 16th Birthday. Katelyn has been talking about this since Mack's birthday. She always likes to know whose birthday is next. She called Caleb in the morning to sing to him and then sang it again, and again, all day long.

Today I had hair in the morning- it turned out gorgeous! Mack napped and Katelyn played at the neighbors. Then we went to the park for a Halloween/Birthday play date. The kids had fun and seriously the cookies and cupcakes were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! That's gals for bringing the goodies!

Happy Birthday to Ian & Remmington!
Mack and his twin, Max.
What crack ups! :)
Seriously Anna painted this pumpkin for some games, what an awesome job!
Well, now for my reveal of my hair- ok, don't get too excited, I know I made you all cringe in anticipation. Hey, it was a big deal to me. So here it is.
Lots of low-lights and about 3 inches off. I know what am I doing? I was a platinum blonde & way long. Well, I needed some depth put back into my hair. Right when I got it done yesterday, it was too dark and I kinda freaked. What can I say, my hair takes color really well. My amazing hairstylist/aka my cousin, suggested a bleach wash, (you don't want to know) & I was nervous to do it. But I did and it lightened up my color and now it's perfect!
THANKS COUSIN!!!

Well, tonight begins all out Halloween parties.
Have a great night, I'm sure we will :)

Halloween Night Countdown #3

Last night for dinner we are pasta and bone breadsticks.
Then for dessert/activity we made Halloween sugar cookies and decorated them.
The kids Loved It!
Why don't kids EVER eat the actually cookie? is it always all about the frosting?

Today we went to another Library story time and Trick or Treating. We did a little more walking around the library which was fun and made it a little more adventurous.

Then Cami helped me run an errand. She had fun with Mack's lion costume.
What a cool Aunt!
Then I got my hair done- Yep, it's pretty extreme for me. I was in a hair rut and needed a change. Here is kinda a sneak peek......
I'm still in kinda freak out mode, but I'm so glad I did it, like I said, I needed a change.
I show you "real" pics later.

It Happened!

Katelyn's little cousin spent the night and this morning they were out playing in the backyard.
I went to check on them and found the cousin cutting Bailey hair. I threw open the door and was about to grab her, when I saw golden locks of hair all over the ground.

You can just imagine the freak out!

Since the scissors were in the cousins hands and this is usually her character because she has done it in the past, I assumed it to be her. But I listened to what both of them had to say, and Yes, just as I suspected. The culprit was the cousin.
I was beyond livid and put her in time out.

Katelyn has random short chunks through out her hair and in the front.
The only thing that kept me somewhat level headed was the fact that it could have been worse.

Maybe it's just the hairstylist in me, but I dreaded this day and hoped it would never come.
and low & behold it was someone else who actually did it to Katelyn.

I think she is still cute though :)
The cousin & I made up in the end. It actually wasn't even that dramatic for her, which kinda upset me even more because I don't think she understood the seriousness of the situation (in my eyes).

Just Like Christmas

Katelyn was just as anxious as I to open up the box, and when i did, it was like magic!
But seriously check out the sun shining in on it.
It's as if it were a gift from the gods.
Katelyn couldn't wait to be the 1st for a test run.
Ooh, just look how shiny it is :)
It's great at spinning too!

Tax Return Splurge

I finally get to buy myself what I have always wanted!
(I'm sure all you clients out there are jumping for joy along with me.)
Can't you just picture yourself here getting a beautiful
cut & color?

P.s. And just throwing this out there.
I had a thought about the mens hair cutting class.
If I were to do 1 class
of 3 ladies ( each bring your own client)
for $30
and 1 person would have the opportunity to receive 50% off the class.
(I will have a random drawing once the class is filled)

Would you be interested?

Easter Play Date

Today some friends & I got together for a little play date.
We ate lunch, decorated cookies, and hunted for eggs.
The kids had a blast & Katelyn was sad to go.

Thank you Allison, Taryn & Paula! Nothing beats some good ol'e girl talk:)

I also had some fun W/ Katelyn's hair today.
Something kinda fun, i think.

Elder Nicoll Called Us!

I just got off the phone with my bro Andrew
(AKA Elder Nicoll)
He is currently in the air flying to San Antonio. Oh goodness did he sound like a missionary, it's amazing the transformation already. When he called my Dad he started out by Saying "Hi, Dad" my Dad said "Hi" thinking it my my other bro Brig. Then Andrew asked what his cell number was and my Dad realized who he was talking to, pretty funny:)

The kids are still sleeping, so Andrew is going to try and call back when he lands, after he call's Mommy:)

Oh Missionaries are Awesome!
.
I have been trying to be a little more creative with Katelyn's hair recently.
Last night I created this.....
It's just a french braid twisted around her head.
Yes it is pretty messy, but I did have a wiggly little girl & a screaming baby at the time I was creating my masterpiece:)

Katelyn also wanted to show off her bracelet. She received this as a newborn and it still fits her. Oh I want to make more, but I will make them on an elastic band so she can take them on & off as she pleases.
.
Katelyn & I went to my dear friend Jen Nordyke's Bridal Shower. Katelyn was the bell of the ball! We enjoyed yummy frozen yogurt w/ all the toppings you could ask for. Then she played with her friends in the backyard. Trampoline jumping & slide sliding, oh she had a blast and it was a fun little activity to do with her.
.
If Andrew is able to call back I am going to video tape Katelyn talking to him.
Hopefully she does talk and isn't shy:)

1st Happy Meal

Katelyn experienced a 1st today.
Her 1st Happy Meal!
Is that shocking or what? Have I deprived my little girl?
Aunt A & Cousin R were nice enough to bring one for Katelyn when they came over or a haircut.
Katelyn excitedly went through her box and found all her food.
Then examined all of it.
And then went to town. She loved it!
& I also experienced a 1st.
My 1st client to fall asleep on me. I have had plenty of clients nod occasionally, but never full out fall asleep. I have to say with the help of Aunt A it was a lot easier this way:)
