Completed & Just Begun

The wall is finished and we made this REALLY easy shelf last night and hung in up.
I was going back and forth between a 4 1/2 ft and 6 1/2 ft shelf.
(if I were to do it again I would have cut the larger one down to 5 1/2 ft and that would have been perfect)
Overall I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out.

Project cost for walls and shelf
Paint $20
(paint which will b used for other projects)
+
Stencil FREE
(card stock and cricut from friend:)
+
Shelf board FREE
(from Parents house)
+
Stain FREE
(already had on hand)
+
"L" brackets $3

Total =$23
with lots of paint still remaining for the next project :)
p.s. i moved my lfg framed collage into the family room.
As for now I am going to leave the fireplace alone, but that molding had not left my mind yet for the walls :)
Moving On
My front door needed a makeover! Bad!
you can't see it, but there were so many scuffs and dings from door hangers, plus the plain old white was BORING.
I prep'd everything and applied the primer.
Then grabbed some paint I had in the shop from a previous project.
(yep, still trying to do projects for FREE)

However sadly the paint and gel'd up :(
Even though it was sealed tight, I'm sure the heat got to it over the summer :(
This size will only cost me a few bucks and hopefully I can get the job done with just one
(fingers crossed)

Wall stenciling projects have begun

Well, I started wall stenciling today.
I started out not really knowing how it was going to all come together, but I am pretty happy with the outcome.

Before:
After:
(don't mind the dusty desk to the left;)
And now what to put back up on the wall. I am thinking a simple leg long shelf.
Maybe with a mirror, family photo's, and topiary's.

Now all the other walls in my home look bland & boring!
Especially the family room :(
Most of the other rooms are still on the list to b done soon and I have ideas already, however the family room has stumped me.
This has caught my eye as an idea.
Playing with molding :)

But I need some help all you creative minds out there.
I HATE my fireplace- stucco is not high up there on my love list.
Initially I have always wanted the fireplace to blend in, but now I am wondering what I can do to it to give it more of a traditional look and help it stand out more.

My 1st thought is with paint because that's the least expensive. I just have to keep telling myself, "rental...rental....rental..." I only have to live with this for another couple yrs.

If anyone has suggestions send them my way :)

A New Project & Pianist.....

We went over to my parents home last night for some dessert & to just hang out. The boys had an intense game of chess and the rest of us, of course, played w/ Katelyn. Before we left Katelyn serenaded us w/ her amazing piano skills.

Then today i finished my wall project (Thanks for all those blogs that i looked at
for ideas)

P.S. I want to get some new pillows for my couch. I bought these when we 1st got married, and i feel like they blend in too much.
I'm thinking something in the brick orange family as a main color to start w/.....

Any color suggestions?

Weekend Projects...never ending

Sooooo much took place this past weekend i don't know where to begin.
On Saturday a new fence was built along side our house (they did a good job)- Not pics, sorry.
While that was going on we.. meaning Scott and his dad... put in our new stove. It was a harder job than we though it would be- i think this was the original stove that was built w/ the house in the mid 1950's (I think).

Before.....

Scott loves demolition- & to think the just the day before i swept and mopped the floors-by the end of the project the floor...counters....spicerack- and just about everything else was covered in saw dust- oh well, i got over it, i can't complain i got a New Stove!!!

After.....

This is definitly a lot nicer than the old one- don't you think?!?!?!
