Half Way Over! (updated)

Well, I have made it half way through the week. Yay!

Lets backtrack.

Monday was, babysit day, hair day, dentist day & bathroom demo day. I took on WAY too much and forgot to send one of my kiddos off on the bus. Scott came to the rescue and took him to school, then ditched his class to babysit for me.
It turns out one of my clients wants to take the missionary discussions, so I am thrilled and i'll keep you posted. She is such a sweet gal and is just missing that true meaning of life. We had such a wonderful discussion and the spirit was present which almost brought me to tears (and yes this was all while I was doing her hair. Talk about multitasking :)

Tuesday was slept in till 6:47 day, babysitting day, burnt dinner day, & sleepover day. A hectic day which just seemed to be getting worse & worse as the day progressed. I barely survived, i'll just say that.

Wednesday was my day off! It was diaper study drop off day, dentist day, farmers market day (jumbo juicy fresh strawberries are 50 cents), splash pad day,
(And yes that is still Mack's lasagna lunch all over his face :)
take out for dinner day, choo choo train day,
Easter pageant day,
(we took pics with some of the cast members afterward. This soldier was HUGE)
(Seriously Huge!)
sleepover day & stay up late watching the basketball game day.

It was a really good day!
The Pageant just truly made it great. Scott was dealing with his computer crashing from a million (ok 40) viruses. P.s. beware of the MS Tool Security Scam). My mom came with me, the kids & my neice. We arrived 15 min before it started, parked at a friends house (thanks B), Found the PERFECT spot on the grass, (Seriously the best seat in the house). The kids we sooo excited and were asking a million adorable questions, and I didn't mind at all. They were there to learn.

I don't think I have ever cried that much at the pageant before. Mary's lullaby always gets me, but truly got me last night, and of course the resurrection scene at the end.
Always a spiritual high!

So far today is babysit day, (my normal kids, plus my friends 3 boys so she can get a break), spring sugar cookie making day (dough today cookies tomorrow), and rice krispie eggs & peanut butter corflake bird nest day, and BUNCO is tonight!!!! Yay!!!!!
Mack was my little helper in the kitchen.
And a post is not complete without a "cheese face"

So Grateful

This afternoon Mack went down for a nap.
Scott was working on the bathroom sawing and making a lot of noise. Scott paused the saw for a sec and I heard Mack screaming, however it almost sounded like he was vomiting.I had a bad feeling & I ran to his room to find him.... it's hard to say.

He was hanging, his head caught between the ladder and his mattress and his body hung off the bed.
He was very purple ....... and his eyes very large....
(I can't get the vision out of my head)

I lifted up his body but his neck was still tightly pinched. I started screaming for Scott (who had started the saw again) somehow he heard me after what seemed like forever and came running.
With the help of Scott we quickly released his little head.

I couldn't hold back my extreme fear of what had happened and broke down holding my baby.
Mack is ok now.
I still have my baby.

I still don't understand how this could have happened and how he was so tightly pinned.
I feel so grateful to my Heavenly Father that my baby was not hurt and that the events happened quickly that enabled us to help him.

Thank you Father in Heaven for watching over us.

Little memories to remember

A Katelyn Memory:
Today I was doing some laundry and Katelyn excitedly came in to me with something behind her back. She said, "Mom, I have something for you" she said this in a song like voice. Then, she showed me a bouquet of silk flowers and said "these are for you Mom" It really just melted my heart.
What Mommy/woman doesn't like flowers :)

Scott's moment with Katelyn:
Tonight Katelyn told me that she was afraid to go to bed because the room was dark. I told her when she feels scared she can ask Jesus to help her feel safe and happy. So...after she was in bed for about 5 minutes, she came out to inform me that she had felt scared, asked Jesus to help her, and he did. Sweet moment.

A Mack Memory:
I am still working on weening Mack from nursing. I am usually only nursing 1-2 times a day.
Today, I had already nursed Mack 2 times, which I've kinda said was my absolute limit. It was around 6:00pm, Scott was in the office studying, Katelyn & cousin Taylor were in the backyard playing, I was STILL doing loads of laundry, when all of the sudden I hear Mack crying.
The family room was pitch dark and there was Mack, hanging onto the "nursing chair" with one hand and holding onto the t.v. remote in the other hand & pointing in my direction.
I laughed & gave in. This kid just can't get over the comfort it brings him.
(I'm still nursing him when he wants it, but i really try to limit it to 1-2 times max. Hopefully he "grows" out of it soon)

It's Sunday

Scott was up all night not feeling well. He must have just been worn out from our Awesome LYF activity last night, but really it was a bummer how crummy he felt.
I got the kids ready for church and Mack went down for his nap.
Then Scott was resting so I laid down too while Katelyn watched animated living scripture movies on You Tube. I should have been getting ready for church & I was just about asleep when I realized the time. Not wanting to jump in the shower I quickly tried to just pull myself together, which was a bad idea. It threw me into one of those moods. Ya know, one of those, I'm fat, ugly, worthless, and zit faced kinda moods.
Giving up, I finally jumped in the shower, threw my hair in a wet bun, put something on that didn't make me look too fat and was out the door. I was only 15 min late, but of course missed the most important part of sacrament meeting, which then made me more upset.

We sat next to Cami & Ammon and they helped with the kids. over all they did pretty well today. Ammon helped me in nursery and it was a blessing that 5 kids were missing today out of our normal 14.

We came home, ate left overs for lunch and then did the normal Sunday afternoon activities. cleaned, played, napped, and now watching a BYU TV movie.

Well, so what else is going on around here.
Scott is interviewing up a storm. we are keeping our fingers crossed that things work out well.
the 1st company he had interview with just loved him. Out of approx 30 applicants from ASU & NAU, Scott ranked in the top 4 and will be going for a 2nd interview next week. same day he interviews with another very competitive company. I'm so proud of him and hope all his hard work pays off.

Katelyn says she want a little sister. I have to admit I am getting baby hungry again. I told Katelyn that hopefully by her next birthday (July) I will have a baby in my tummy. She said she wants it to be a girl. I told her that Heavenly Father will either put a girl of boy in my tummy, and she said she wants two. Scott & I just laughed and I think Scott about fainted.
When it does happen (we are not trying yet) it will be so fun because I picture Katelyn asking a ton of questions, & I'm so excited. As long as they are not birds & the bees questions :)

Mack's 1st top tooth sprouted this weekend, it took a few days to work it's way down. Weening him has gone ok i guess, I am usually feeding him 2 times a day. around 2:00pm and then right before bed time. I'm trying to just go by his schedule on when he wants to stop, but we will see how much longs this goes for.
Mack will be 1 next Thursday.

As for me. I am working on my self esteem, It's a real struggle for me most days, I'm just not happy with myself; mentally, spiritually--mostly physically. I am most grateful for any of those small moments where I do gain a little pick me up though.
And now for the fun stuff, busy season has begun for hair and It's heaven. Such a blessing! I'm getting worse & worse at taking pics, but I did actually remember to take this future brides pic HERE. Hopefully I'll remember to whip out the camera more often.
(sorry for the depressing post, It's been one of those days)

Hope you all have an awesome week!

Where to start..

(Katelyn showing off her brand new sparkly lip gloss)
Things have just been really busy around here lately apparently, because no blogging has taken place.

Friday Scott & I doubled with my parents and went toJoe's BBQ then to Hale theatre for a show. It was a late night, but sure fun.

Saturday I did hair ALL DAY LONG! My legs & feet were killing me, But how can you complain about your job that you LOVE. Sorry, because of the craziness no before & after pics were taken for my hair blog, I know, I know I need to update that. I just never remember to take pics anymore.

Scott is a machine! He works all day starting @ 6:00am then goes to school 3 nights a week & Saturday mornings. Seriously a machine. I love him for working so hard.

Katelyn is loving her little brother. They are playing together more & it's so cute to watch. She also purchased some lip gloss today & couldn't be more proud that she is growing up to be a big girl. p.s. "fish" died on Saturday. I had larger rocks in the bottom & apparently she swam down too far and wiggled her way into them and got stuck. i had seen her an hour before swimming around so it happened that fast. Katelyn does not know yet.
p.s.s. We are not putting Katelyn in school yet. the distance & financial burden was getting to me. Good thing I hadn't told her yet.

Mack is almost walking!!! He turned 10 months yesterday.
I tried to get it on film this morning, but he was cranky. He will take 4-5 steps and either get too exited & fall or decided that crawling is faster and start crawling instead.

As for me, well, I just about had the BEST workout EVER this morning! Seriously it was great!
p.s. anyone go to 24 & want to come with me? The more the merrier.
Hum, then just trying to keep the house put together fixing up the yards..... and waiting for this blasted heat to go away!

What's Happenin?

Well, what's been going on around here?
Bailey is sooooo pregnant and I feel her pain. We have been letting her inside during most of the day to keep cool & seeing her just brings back memories of the discomforts of pregnancy.
Puppies will be here in a week!
You are going to freak out, I know I did, but, I craved a baby yesterday! Ya, I know crazy!!!
I told Scott & He about passed out :)
Katelyn & Mack are playing so well together (most of the time)
Last night was our 2nd night of letting Mack cry himself back to sleep. The 1st night Katelyn slept in our bed and around 4:00am asked to get back into her bed. I never heard Mack until 4:30am and I let him cry in out. I woke up at 6:30 severely engorged and feed Mack to his hearts content. The 2nd night Katelyn slept in her own bed and I again didn't hear Mack until 4:00am, he had been crying for about 10 min, & again I was really engorged already so I got up to feed him and put him right back down @4:30.
What do you guys do with the engorged issue at night?????
Thursday night I went to a bow making party with Ashley, Beth, Jamie, & Lacey. It was so fun catching up with friends, & making adorable hair accessories. I made it a late night, ya I didn't return until. 10:45 - that's really late for me. Scott had put the kids down, such a good hubby!
Katelyn had made this sticker arrangement for me and in the morning excitedly posed next to it for a picture.
Last night Scott & I went to Olive Garden for a date night (p.s. going out to eat gets sooo expensive, I need more date night ideas)
Anyways, it was so night to just sit & talk with Scott. He is the love of my life & my best friend. Out relationship[ had bloomed even more recently & i couldn't be in more love with him.

Happy Sunday!

Mack, Mack-Macker-Magoo-Mackadoo-Macky....

These are just some of his nicknames.
Scott calls him Mack Mack & Macker
I call him Magoo & Mackadoo
Katelyn calls him Macky
The other day I realized that Mack's eye duct had cleared up.
His duct had been clogged since he was born leaving his left eye always gunky.
So for documenting purposes, I would say his eye cleared up in his 6th month. Thank goodness, I was not wanting to have surgery.

Mack has discovered his tongue. He sticks is out just about all day long & thinks he is just so funny.

Mack has also discovered his voice. He jibber jabbers and grunts at his toys, it's just so hilarious!

It's so much fun watching this kid grow.

The Weekend Has Arrived

Well, this week has been I guess you can say eventful. If I took a lot of pictures I consider it an eventful week:)

I rearranged my family room.
I think with the space I am working with this is as good as it's going to get, & I am actually pleased with it.
It's really all about the mantel anyways.
Oh I hate my fireplace, but LOVE my mantel!
Our mornings usually look something like this.
Katelyn slumped over her chair after eating breakfast & watching cartoons.
Katelyn has learned to ride her bike that Grandma Nicoll bought her.
Katelyn LOVES her bike and we are out riding daily. She can also ride her bike when we go walking and she does pretty well keeping up and can go about 1 mil before getting tired. I know, I'm impressed too.

On this beautiful morning we headed over to Cami & Ammon's home to start her crockpot dinner.
(Cami works 10 hr clinical's right now and didn't want the stew cooking for that long so we helped her out.)

We were almost there when we received a phone call from Scott......
Then a few moments later to Katelyn amazement,
There was Daddy!
What a fun treat for Katelyn to see her Daddy in action.
(p.s. He was not currently driving a route)
We made our way home after running some errands and began planting our little garden.
"Green Giant" aka Mack, was a big helper and played in the grass while I planted.
I just bought a bunch of pots and and planters. Some will prob need to be transplanted once they get bigger though.

Mack received a "booster" seat.
This belonged to Great Grandma Nicoll, not sure if she used it for her kids or just her grandkids.
These things make me soooo nervous, but I tested it out big time.
I think Mack likes it, what do ya think?
Cousin Taylor joined us for a sleep over & later on I had a little hair cut for Miss "M".
Then the girls enjoyed juice boxes in the front yard.
I picked up this little table & chair set from my grandparents and fixed it up a bit with some "Rusteze" black spray paint. Now it has a perfect little spot in our front yard.

Before:
After:
Katelyn loves to play in the front and there is never anywhere to sit except for the ground, so this is perfect!
When it get's too hot I will move it under the carport.
Thank you Grandma & Grandpa!
We Love You, (and feel better Grandma:)

Just Stuff

Today I have been running errands all day and dealing w/ several Scrooges! I am about in tears from it all. Why can't everyone just have the Christmas spirit?
I ran an errand for someone and went into Forever 21 @ Fiesta Mall. I was seriously holding back tears. Oh how I miss shopping!!! I remember back in the day when I could go pick out a new outfit and be on a "feeling good, high" from it. Maybe someday I'll be able to shop again (doubt it)

Mack is doing well, however last night was by far the worst night I have had w/ him. I think he is a little under the weather and just doesn't feel good. Mack is starting to show more expressions and when he gives me a little smile it totally makes my day. I love my little guy:)
Katelyn is such a good big sister. She is always making sure Mack is covered up with his blanket and that his music is playing on his swing. Her imagination is exploding and I will catch her making voices w/ her toys and acting them out. It's so fun watching her grow.
We have had the wonderful opportunity lately to go on some dates. One night we went on a big group date w/ a few of my siblings and friends. We went to listen to Jon Schmidt. He was amazing and it was a great night out. A few nights later we went to the MAC to see another christmas show, it's nice to get out every once in a while w/ my Hubby:)
Katleyn is maybe trying to grow up a little too fast because she loves getting into my makeup. On this day it was my powder (Thankfully w/ not color)

P.S. I have been blessed w/ quit a few more clients lately- Thank you for all the referrals:)
This is still hands down the most popular cut these days for me, & I don't mind cause I LOVE doing it.
Check out the short, med, & long version of it HERE

THIS JUST IN
Scott just got out of his AT&T contract w/out having to pay the cancelation fee, & he didn't even have to die to do it :)

Still working....

I'll be back sometime next week.
landscaping, exterior paint and the office are still being finished up.

Oh how I miss my computer.

P.S. All is well over here.
Katelyn is keeping us entertained.
Scott is prepping for finals.
Mack is now starting off his night in his crib and lasts the 1st half of the night :)
I am having fun decorating and trying to keep my head on straight.

Uplifted

THANK YOU to all who have sent encouraging words my way.
I so very much appreciate them:)

This has been a wonderful weekend full of many events, and there are still more tonight.
We have enjoyed lots of family time at home. Scott has totally helped when it comes to housework and playing w/ Katelyn.
(Also a shout out to my sis Camille who has cleaned my home several times for me:)
I am still struggling at night. The nursing on my side practically all night long leaves we very sore in the morning, but I'm tugging along.
Katelyn has been a wonderful little helper.
I just love this Man!
(photo taken by Katelyn)Andrew went through the Temple Friday night and it was such a beautiful experience.
Scott went straight from work and I met him there after my sis came to watch the kids. Trying to get ready to go to the Temple was very chaotic and I couldn't help but cry my eye's out on the way to the Temple. Part of it was that I was excited to go because it had been so long and I was in need of spiritual uplifting, & I was.
Saturday was my cousins baptism and I was able to play a small role in the program. We got together as a family for treats afterward and oh, how I love spending time w/ family. Tonight we have more family time at my parents for a huge dinner.House update: interior paint will be finished up Monday, tile installed Tues, and Carpet hopefully by Friday. We started emptying out our storage unit and are bring it over here because we don't want to renew the unit. Plans are to get everything moved into the house by next weekend and totally unpack and then we will move in:)
