1st Day of Kindergarten 2013

The day has finally arrived.
I Have A KINDERGARTNER!!!

1st things 1st- Haircuts
Just a trim now because she is growing it out like Rapunzel

The night before THE FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN, I put the kids in bed and then had a couple clients coming over.
One was an autistic little girl who was managed to get 2 MASSIVE hair knots in her hair.
I mean bigger that your fist massive.

There was a lot of loud noises and the parents held on tight and I was able to cut out the knots.
I was in awe of these amazing gentle parents who showed no sign of frustration during this whole ordeal.
I about broke into tears. At first when i saw how bad the situation was and then when i was able to help this little girl.
And still made it work to wear i could leave most of the hair in the front to be pulled back in a pony tail and cover up all the damage.

I will forever be grateful for this experience.

However Katelyn came out of her room afterward completely traumatized.
There were a lot of scary noises being made (Remember this girl has autism and has a highly sensitive head and was not liking the idea of someone touching it)

Poor Katelyn sat in her room during all of this awake and scared what was going on.
Poor thing!
I explained the situation and she eventually calmed down and fell asleep in my bed
while I finished up my next client.

My little sleeping beauty
Morning came.
I was actually surprised Katelyn didn't wake up at the crack of dawn. Thank goodness.
She woke up at 6:45 and she RAN down the hall to the kitchen with the biggest smile on her face and said. "I get to go to Kindergarten today!"

She excitedly got ready
And we put on our Spiritual armor for the day. I enjoyed teaching the kids about this (I have slacked in the past, but now with this school schedule it should help me remember)
The morning sun was pretty bright for Katelyn pretty blue eyes, but we took a few photos and she closed here eyes in between shots :)

We loaded Bridget up in the jogger, Mack on his bike & Katelyn on her razor and headed out.
On the way I met up with a neighbor and we discussed me watching her girls after school.
What a blessing, I am helping her out and I am able to make a little extra income to help pay off student loans!!!! Yay!
Oh I started the envelope system and we are big time budgeting over here to get our students loans paid off asap.We are on the 4 yr plan.
Katelyn was so brave and walked right into class
She found her seat we said our good byes & i quickly walked away before I could cry.
Mack, Bridget & I walked home. eventually Bridget went down for her nap and Mack & I played.
We practiced our colors, watched a movie,
Play with cars
and wrestled.
We ate lunch and before we knew it, it was time to go get Katelyn from school
We loaded back up and were on our way.

I swear I think the most exciting thing when kids get home is opening up their lunch box to see what;s left inside from lunch. I remember doing that as a kid :)
Katelyn received 4 stars today for using her manners.
DAY 2
We all woke up a little tired on the 2nd day of school.
But still in good spirits.
Today was RED day and Mack and Bridget joined in on the fun.
Mack was soooo starving ;)
So he had to eat breakfast on the way.
Still just as brave as ever. That's my girl!
It was Bridget's turn to play with Mommy when we got home.
Lots of peek a boo and wrestling.

Such a cutie pie :)
After school Bridget was thrilled to see her sister.
We went over her projects form the day and Katelyn received 7 stars for using good manners.

Last Week Of School

What a week, and we are only half way through!
My anxiety at times leaves me so numb I can't even function.
Right now I should be doing a million things... however Blogging has crept to the top of my list.
And i'm ok with that :)

Bridget turned 11 months!
Wow here I go crying again.
I have been crying so much this week.

My baby is growing up so fast. Bridget brings me so much joy.
Maybe it's because she has slept through the night for 4 nights in a row ;)

Bridget loves her babies!
She carries them around, rocks them (which is sooo adorable), gives them kisses......

Oh my sweet Bridget, I can't believe you are 11 months!
Pretty sure I will be crying on your 1st birthday.
You have been such a blessing to our family.
Katelyn & I made some cookies to give to her teachers and Katelyn wrote the thank you cards all by herself. I as so proud of her.
Every morning Katelyn meets Scott on the corner and picks him flowers.
Scott drives up (on his way to work) and Katelyn hands her Daddy flowers and then she runs home, but not before stopping and watching her Daddy drive down the road and out of sight.
It's such a special moment these two have EVERY morning.

When Scott is out of town, I am blessed with these flowers on occasion :)
Mack & I have been buddies this week.
Yesterday we wrestled, jumped on the trampoline in the sprinklers, sang "dinosaur songs" (apparently i don't know how to sing them correctly though:)

He & I butt heads sometimes, and days like these are sure treasured.
These are "surprises for Daddy"
A "cat airplane" a "giraffe" and towers..... added later on the collection are a zoo and 4 more towers.
Here we are skyping with Daddy and showing him the "surprises"

Miss Bridget is starting to grow more hair......?

See here is proof!  ;)

Last day of preschool 2013
Oh Katelyn! My sweet Katelyn, I can't believe how much you have grown this year.
I am so proud of you!

Here you are at the beginning of the year.

Katelyn is my amazing helper at home.
She is always willing and will jump to help when I am in need of something.
I am so blessed by her.
We had some fun taking pictures this morning.
You are so silly :)

We were a few minutes early to Discovery Club today, so we had a dance party in the van.
I think Bridget thought we were crazy
We dropped you off so you could get ready for your program.
Aunt Cami babysat Mack & Bridget and I returned to watch the program along with Grandma Nicoll & Great Grandma & Grandpa Banks

All the children dressed like Children around the world.
Katelyn was a little Spanish girl
 They sang songs

And showed pictures of throughout the year

Each month the club turned into one of these habitat's.
So Awsome!

And then the famous President Song.
( I'll sing it for you sometime ;)

Katelyn has always kinds shy'd herself at programs, but happily she opened up a little more this time.

She memorized her speaking part perfectly.
(She recited it like 20 times this morning)

And the ending song was the children dancing. Katelyn did a solo Spanish dance, It was adorable!
Thank you to all the family how came to watch Katelyn throughout the year.
 I love you Katelyn.
XOXO
