A Little American Spirit

After years of wanting one.
I finally purchased an American flag to proudly display at our house.
I really do love this patriotic time of year and thank you Dollar store for helping me out with a little more decor.
And the kids were just having too much fun jumping off the fire place for me not to take any pics.

Katelyn's 2nd swim class is today and she hasn't stopped talking about it.
She is way excited!

My New Desk

Scott kicked me out of the office, so now I am out in the family room and I'm kinda liking it, so thank you Scott!
My desk needed a little something for all my notes, announcements, reminders, ect.
Ya know something cute:)
So I gather up some materials.
And made this!
I didn't have much ribbon & it's a little off centered looking, but once all my notes, etc... are up I think it will look great!
So here's to my new desk :)

It's Valentines Around The House

The front walk way

Lots of hugs and kisses
My 1st attempt EVER at a pillow.
Don't laugh :)
This topiary was a pain to do, but it's so cute.
I think i need to spray paint the pot pink to make it more Valentine lookin.
The Mantle
And my FAVORITE 2 crafts from yesterday are these. My adorable topiaries

A little Christmas around the house

I don't think I posted a pic of around the house yet. It's Pretty much because I can never hold my little camera still enough so it's not blurry w/o the flash and lit pics never look good with the flash. So finally here is one.

I LOVE the rain & today is a good day!

It's beginning to look alot........

Like Christmas around here.
We started out by listening to a message from Santa to Katelyn.
It was hilarious watching her get all shy & then this is the part where Santa is telling her she needs to try a little harder to be a good girl. Yep, she knows she needs to work on those temper tantrums before Santa will bring her some presents:)
I started decorating around the house the day after Thanksgiving. Oh it's just so much fun!
Scott did all the lights outside & I did the inside of the home.
Here is the kids room. Yes, they got their own tree in their room- Lucky Kids!
The kids love their tree. Katelyn did most of the decorating all by herself. She would go in her room, shut the door and spend a good 30 min or so decorating.
I like the tree topper we made:)
Just wanted to throw these in here. These are the names I made for the kids a while back. I don't think I ever posted them.

I received my book in the mail the other day that i made for the kids. I was going to give it to the kids for christmas but apparently "Santa" forgot and gave it to them early.
Katelyn Says
When I was setting up the tree with the tree skirt.
Katelyn asked, "what's that" I told her it was a tree skirt. Then she replied. "Oh, It's girl tree".

Katelyn has ben having trouble sleeping and one night Scott put in a movie and they cuddled in the recliner. After a few minutes Katelyn kinda frantically said. "Dad! My eye's won't work!"
Scott looked down and she was trying to keep her eyes open, but she was so tried she couldn't keep her eyes from fluttering shut. Well it was like 3:00 in the morning. Cute!

It's Fall! (At least in my book)

This is my favorite time of year!
I love Autumn time & all that comes with it. Warm colors, cool weather, yummy spice smells, oh it's heaven:)
If I had money to spend I would love totally going all out decorating my home, seriously all out.
But at least i have a few things to get me into the fall spirit.
I love these little pumpkins I got on clearance a few years ago.
And how can you not have a cornucopia?
I got took this home from my old job, it's was a gift filled with goodies & now a perfect fall decor:)
The gourds I dried and stored from a few years ago, pretty smart, I think.
And these cute little scarecrows.
The "Mommy" & "Daddy" are new. Katelyn picked them out at Walmart. Only $1 each. And @ Michael's their big scarecrows are on sale right now for $2.99- I must go get one for the front yard:)
It's all about leaves, of course when we are talking fall.
ok, yes I rearranged the furtiture again, but there is a real reason this time.
Bailey peed on the carpet last week and I could not get the smell out, it was horrid!
We had the carpets cleaned on Friday and when they dried the smell was still totally there, ugh!
So Monday night Scott & I ripped out a chunk of the carpet padding where the smell was coming from. By morning the smell was practically gone. I need to pull a little more out today & I hoping we don't have to clean the carpets again.
So now the couch is where there is no padding- pretty smart huh? & This opens up the room even more.
Moral of the story: Bailey is not aloud inside(at least it's cooling down now). She is an outside dog, but we would let her in to lay on the tile to stay cool in this 115' weather. And this is how she repays us? By sneaking onto the carpet to pee w/o us seeing her.
Little Stinker!
And this is my newest project- it's kinda the before pic. I'm matching what I did to the back splash. I'm so excited! It's already painted and now I just need the base board and trim. oh the kitchen is almost done- talk about a long stand still.
Mack sprouted his 2nd tooth last night & it was a rough one too. He was up several times last night in pain:(
We have been outside playing more and Mack starts for the street every chance he gets. What in the world is so cool about the street? I was trying to teach Katelyn about service yesterday and we picked the neighbors weeds. She was not interested and all and then with Mack darting for the street, it turned into a hectic service project. However the neighbors yard looks a whole lot better now.

On our walk the other day Katelyn saw a black & white dog. She then said how Bailey was kinda brown & then paused & said, "Mom, i'm white" I found it hilarious :)

Happy Tuesday & Happy beginning of Fall!

Rearranging nightmares

My family room is such an awkward shape, I and never happy with the layout. For those who have been to my home, the 1st thing you see if a huge fire place right in the corner of the room.
It takes up a ton of space which cuts into 2 walls
& then a huge window nook which cuts into the 3rd wall.
Therefore I am very limited in my space for arranging furniture.
Yesterday I had had it.

I moved it around again creating this, I still don't like it though.
I guess I just need to buy smaller furniture.
Prob. a love seat and 2 small reading chairs.
(Ha Ha, like that going to happen)
But these make me happy:)
Oh how I wish i had a ton of money just to garden.
