Katelyn Says

Today we were visiting Grandma Banks (Katelyn drew a christmas tree for her) and Katelyn needed a potty break.
We ran to the bathroom and Katelyn sat down.

"You have to wait for it..... it's coming.....I hear it!......it's yellow.... Tinkerbell is yellow.......my hair is yellow.......Hey! My hair is yellow just like my potty!"

& Later Katelyn fell asleep on the couch with a sucker in her mouth
I love this girl :)

It's beginning to look alot........

Like Christmas around here.
We started out by listening to a message from Santa to Katelyn.
It was hilarious watching her get all shy & then this is the part where Santa is telling her she needs to try a little harder to be a good girl. Yep, she knows she needs to work on those temper tantrums before Santa will bring her some presents:)
I started decorating around the house the day after Thanksgiving. Oh it's just so much fun!
Scott did all the lights outside & I did the inside of the home.
Here is the kids room. Yes, they got their own tree in their room- Lucky Kids!
The kids love their tree. Katelyn did most of the decorating all by herself. She would go in her room, shut the door and spend a good 30 min or so decorating.
I like the tree topper we made:)
Just wanted to throw these in here. These are the names I made for the kids a while back. I don't think I ever posted them.

I received my book in the mail the other day that i made for the kids. I was going to give it to the kids for christmas but apparently "Santa" forgot and gave it to them early.
Katelyn Says
When I was setting up the tree with the tree skirt.
Katelyn asked, "what's that" I told her it was a tree skirt. Then she replied. "Oh, It's girl tree".

Katelyn has ben having trouble sleeping and one night Scott put in a movie and they cuddled in the recliner. After a few minutes Katelyn kinda frantically said. "Dad! My eye's won't work!"
Scott looked down and she was trying to keep her eyes open, but she was so tried she couldn't keep her eyes from fluttering shut. Well it was like 3:00 in the morning. Cute!

This Weeks Menu

According to Katelyn.
On Sunday I asked Scott what he wanted to eat this upcoming week.
Before he had time to say anything Katelyn started blurting out what she wanted.

M: Oatmeal
T: Chocolate Chips
W: Chicken
Th: Thanksgiving
F: Water
S: I don't know
S: Chocolate chips

Not sure if we will be sticking to this schedule, however the Chocolate chips might not be such a bad idea :)

Little memories to remember

A Katelyn Memory:
Today I was doing some laundry and Katelyn excitedly came in to me with something behind her back. She said, "Mom, I have something for you" she said this in a song like voice. Then, she showed me a bouquet of silk flowers and said "these are for you Mom" It really just melted my heart.
What Mommy/woman doesn't like flowers :)

Scott's moment with Katelyn:
Tonight Katelyn told me that she was afraid to go to bed because the room was dark. I told her when she feels scared she can ask Jesus to help her feel safe and happy. So...after she was in bed for about 5 minutes, she came out to inform me that she had felt scared, asked Jesus to help her, and he did. Sweet moment.

A Mack Memory:
I am still working on weening Mack from nursing. I am usually only nursing 1-2 times a day.
Today, I had already nursed Mack 2 times, which I've kinda said was my absolute limit. It was around 6:00pm, Scott was in the office studying, Katelyn & cousin Taylor were in the backyard playing, I was STILL doing loads of laundry, when all of the sudden I hear Mack crying.
The family room was pitch dark and there was Mack, hanging onto the "nursing chair" with one hand and holding onto the t.v. remote in the other hand & pointing in my direction.
I laughed & gave in. This kid just can't get over the comfort it brings him.
(I'm still nursing him when he wants it, but i really try to limit it to 1-2 times max. Hopefully he "grows" out of it soon)

Katelyn Says

Scott walked into the bedroom and said “holy cow, it’s hot!”

Katelyn who was following close behind said “Holly cow? Holly cow? Dad where’s your holly cow? where's your holly cow? Do you have a holy cow?”

Scott said “No Katelyn, Holy Cow is just a figure of speech”

Speech? Speech? Dad, What’s speech? Do you have speech? Where’s Speech? Where's speech?

Then she reached onto my dresser and picked up some “make believe speech” and pinched in between her fingers. Then came out and brought it to me.

Katelyn said “Here ya go Mom, here’s your speech”

Me, not knowing the story behind this yet, look at Scott confused & then he told me what had happened.

Gotta love this girlJ

Katelyn Says

Katelyn received a bug bite, or in her words....
"Dad, the bug was mad at me and crawled up my leg and poked me"

{"You're Crazy Mom"}

I was laying on the couch when Katelyn ran over and jumped up on my belly. I told her she had to be careful because there was a baby in my belly. She literally looked at me like I was crazy. I explained again that she needed to be really soft and again she looked at me like I was crazy, then said "Ok" and ran off. A minute later she returned w/ her sippy cup and gave my belly a drink. Apparently the baby was thirsty:)

And for your viewing pleasure, a little video of Katelyn going down the slide yesterday at the splash park. She biffed on this thing so many times, but would just laugh it off.
