Conference Week

Friday Katelyn & Mack received packages in the mail from Grandpa Ray & Granny.

Katelyn was so excited with her new dress and jewelry and Mack loved his new outfit & cool lizards. later we skype'd with them which the kids always love (even though Katleyn was half asleep this time:)

Then Friday night Katelyn spent the night at Grandma Rays with cousin Taylor. Katelyn had a blast! Scott & I spent some much needed time with Mack, we ate a picnic dinner and watch movies. Then Mack slept in our bed with us. It was nice spending this quality time with our little boy.

Saturday conference started! Yay!

Mom gave us our traditional conference basket fulls of goodies & activities.

While the men went to priesthood session the girls got together to make some raspberry jam.

Katelyn loved helping out stirring the purred raspberries into the sugar.

Ans let me tell you, this is the best jam ever!

After priesthood all the Nicoll's went to Serrano's for dinner.

Sadly Katelyn had burned her finger on the stove and the ice wasn't cutting it, so Scott left early before the food came and took her home. He bandaged her up & gave her a blessing. She quickly started feeling better and I am thankful for Scott for taking care of his baby girl.

Luckily we were seated int he corner in the bar and Mack had some room to play around.

He kept himself entertained towards the end pushing the booster seats around.

Sunday morning before conference continued I made the kids a fort to play in

In between Conference Scott's brother came over for some help with homework and then we got together with the family for lunch and my parents made YUMMY peach ice cream! It was delicious!

I felt very emotionally raw after conference, but in a good way. I learned a lot specifically about bettering myself & i looked forward to re-reading the talks that were given.

A Special Baptism

Last night a dear sweet friend became the newest member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. It was such a wonderful Baptism! I was able to speak to Kelly about Baptism, Our good friend Debbie spoke on the Holy Ghost and Brit sang beautifully which made the spirit that much more present. I am so grateful I was able to share this wonderful journey with Kelly.

(a little background: Kelly has been a client of mine or the past 18 months or so. At one visit she shared her feelings with me that she always felt something different when she came to my home. And she admired the relationship Scott & I had with each other and our children. We talked for a couple hours about the gospel and about our belief in Eternal Families and in the end she anxiously wanted to meet with the missionaries and her journey began.)

Kelly I am so excited for you and for the tremendous blessings the gospel will give you.

After the Baptism we were starving so we attempted a restaurant with the kiddos. I have said this before, but this one was for sure our last attempt. The kids weren't horrible, but it's so not worth it.

But even with the chaos, I still enjoyed this adventure with my Family :)

I would like to share my testimony of my Faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know with all my heart that this is the true Gospel on the earth today. That Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know the Thomas S Monson is our later day Prophet who leads and guides our church today. He is the mouth piece of our Father in Heaven.

I have such a strong testimony of the Temple and the covenants we make there. I know that if I live worthily I will return to my Father in Heaven and He will welcome me home with open arms where I will be reunited with my family once again.

Nothing is more powerful than the spirit of the Holy Ghost and the confirmation it gives me that I am on the right path. I feel my Heavenly Father's love for me when I am progressing closer to him.

I feel so blessed to have the Gospel in my life and I strive to always be the best example to others.

This experience with Kelly has helped my testimony of missionary work grow.

Primary Prayer

Katelyn gave the opening prayer in Primary for the 1st time.

Scott & I had such a proud moment as we watched our little girl.

She did such a great job!

2:00 Church, It's going to be a long year.

It's Monday, Scott is back at work after his 2 week vacation and we are back on our normal schedule.

Wow It's nice to be back to normal now.

2:00 church started yesterday, yep that was interesting, pretty much can say i'm not a fan & it's going to be a long year.

I have a new batch of nursery kids and a new room. I have all the young ones and that's a whole different world from the older nursery class I am used to.

Scott is teaching the Valiant boys class & I could tell when he was preparing his lesson that he was way excited!

And now the moment you have all been waiting for.... Katelyn is a SUNBEAM!

My little girl is growing up so fast!

In addition, Aunt Cami is her teacher! Yay!

Behold, Your Little Ones

Scott & I are in nursery.

At 1st I was excited to be in a calling with Scott. Because of all the chaos of a new baby & a new home we hadn't been able to spend as much time as I would like together.

It's been a few months now, and still not quite sure what to think. Sometimes it's hard not to think negatively about our calling. I sure do miss adult meetings, ie: Relief society! And having a newborn in Nursery gave me mixed feelings. After 3 yrs in Primary in our other ward I am starting to feel like I am really missing out in my "adult time".

Then Heavenly father gives us a day like this past Sunday. We only had 4 children (we usually have 8) and they were angles! Everything went so smoothly and Mack was happy and entertained himself the whole time.

We went on a walk outside to take Mother's Day pictures, had a great lesson, a fun coloring activity, a smooth snack time with no spills, and NO fighting!

Scott & I have such important callings. We are helping shape these Children to be the next generation of the church. That's pretty stinkin important!

Heavenly Father knew I needed a smooth day to help me realize this important calling that I have been entrusted in.

p.s. Don't you think Mack & I have the exact eye color?

~Katelyn's 1st Day of Nursery~

Here I am on my 1st day of Nursery back in 1985.

Katelyn did so good today, which was a relief because it was very busy for me.

1st Day as Primary President- Seriously my head was spinning with it all, but everything ran smoothly and it's going to be a great year.

Our Prophet has gone home....

It's sad, yet happy news that our Prophet Gordon B Hinckley passed away this evening. He was a spunky 97 year old, & passed away from old age.

I am so thankful that i was able to live through my young adult life having such a wonderful guide.

I am so grateful for our Prophets in these later days. I am so grateful for this church; The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. I am so grateful for the Temple & for the promises i have made to my spouse & that after this earth life our family will be able to live together forever & for all eternity.
