Back From Cortez, Co

We went for a quick trip to Cortez this weekend to visit some family.
Mack met his Great Granddad Bert for the 1st time & his Aunt Penny

Here is a 4 generation pic of all the boys.
The kids instantly loved Aunt Penny and Granddad. (especially Katelyn)
We spent Saturday morning play checkers and reading books
Granddad is just about he most amazing checkers player out there.
After a while we would bundle up and head outside to play.

We taught the kids how to jump ion leaf piles :)

And Scott had a little too much fun throwing leaf at me- notice the piles kept getting bigger & bigger- the little stinker :)
On the 11th Scott & I celebrated (ok well we forgot all about it, but anyways)
It was our 6 yr engagement anniversary.
Ans this is the spot where he proposed. It was a cool night with a little rain sprinkles, when we went on a walk and stopped under the light post. Such a wonderful moment!
And 6 years later with my amazing family- Oh i'm so glad I said yes:)
Saturday afternoon we drove up north a little to play in the snow
The kids had fun making their snowman- however was tackled before he was finished.
prob worst family pic ever. I had to run over and pick Katelyn up from doing a snow angle, then stepped on Scott's hand as I bent down, yep a lot was going on.
Mack came down with a cold and a high fever that night. I hate when my kids get sick:(
We left Sunday morning after vising with Penny & Ron and riding quads, the kids did I guess ok on the drive home, but then Mack was sick throwing up that night. He is doing better now and we are adjusting from the long drive and lack of sleep, but we sure enjoyed spending fun time with the family.

Conference Week

Friday Katelyn & Mack received packages in the mail from Grandpa Ray & Granny.
Katelyn was so excited with her new dress and jewelry and Mack loved his new outfit & cool lizards. later we skype'd with them which the kids always love (even though Katleyn was half asleep this time:)
Then Friday night Katelyn spent the night at Grandma Rays with cousin Taylor. Katelyn had a blast! Scott & I spent some much needed time with Mack, we ate a picnic dinner and watch movies. Then Mack slept in our bed with us. It was nice spending this quality time with our little boy.
Saturday conference started! Yay!
Mom gave us our traditional conference basket fulls of goodies & activities.
Mom we love this sooo much!
While the men went to priesthood session the girls got together to make some raspberry jam.
Katelyn loved helping out stirring the purred raspberries into the sugar.
Ans let me tell you, this is the best jam ever!
After priesthood all the Nicoll's went to Serrano's for dinner.
Sadly Katelyn had burned her finger on the stove and the ice wasn't cutting it, so Scott left early before the food came and took her home. He bandaged her up & gave her a blessing. She quickly started feeling better and I am thankful for Scott for taking care of his baby girl.
Luckily we were seated int he corner in the bar and Mack had some room to play around.
He kept himself entertained towards the end pushing the booster seats around.
Sunday morning before conference continued I made the kids a fort to play in
In between Conference Scott's brother came over for some help with homework and then we got together with the family for lunch and my parents made YUMMY peach ice cream! It was delicious!
I felt very emotionally raw after conference, but in a good way. I learned a lot specifically about bettering myself & i looked forward to re-reading the talks that were given.
