A 1st for Mack

Today marks 20 months for Mr Mack!

When Mack has to go #2 I can smell it before it even comes out. (yep, it's that bad)

So apparently I was in an adventurous mood and asked Mack if he wanted to go on the toilet. He totally understood me, smiled and walked to the bathroom.

He was so excited!

He started pushing,

grabbed some toilet paper

& wiped down.

Nothing came out, & I wasn't surprised, but I was excited that he made the effort.

(he pooped in his diaper about 10 min later)

This reminds me when Katelyn was this age and started showing interest.

I will maybe ask Mack randomly to sit on the toilet when I can catch him before doing his business, but I am nowhere close to beginning potty training him yet.

But he sure looks cute on that toilet :)

I Heart Monsoon's

Oh I just love them. Yesterdays came out of no where, it was awesome.

Well, during the last storm last week, the hood to our chimney blew off the roof. We needed to get it fixed before the next storm & since yesterdays storms hit out of the blue, Scott had no time & went up in th rain. When it started coming down really hard I told him not to go up anymore, but then the macho man ego hit & he was going up rain or shine.

Oh he loves danger.

He was soaked, & this pic was only his 1st time coming down before the rain really hit.

But oh just look at that beautiful rainbow.

Apparently this is Katelyn's 1st rainbow she can ever remember seeing. She was in aww.

Potty training woes.

Katelyn has done a 180' & is peeing & pooping in her undies all day long. I am beyond frustrated! She will pee or poop w/in minutes of me asking if she needs to go and if attempt to take her to the toilet, it's a kicking and screaming mess. I am taking the risk & not doing pull-ups at all because I think she was relying on those when we would leave the house.

Yesterday she did well & no accidents at the gym. However, it was a kicking & screaming mess getting her to try to go on the toilet before we left.

Then at visiting teaching I was mortified when she peed her pants again, minutes after I asked her if she needed to go.

Have your kids done this? What have you done?

I have already taken away T.V. and chocolate milk & not sure what else to do.

Mr. Mack is a fit throwing mess recently. I don't know what his problem is. Other than he is getting bigger and trying to now voice his frustrations.

But along with the fit throwing also comes some major cuteness. I'll have to post a video later of him just playing and having a ball. His laugh and facial expressions are just too adorable.

Miss Independent!

Guess who is doing amazing @ potty training?

You guess it. It's Katelyn!

We started on Monday and have been going pretty strong ever since.

So what finally worked?

We started taking things away from her, like t.v. & chocolate milk.

We have had some battles, but she is now doing awesome. Today she hasn't had one accident and she even went all by herself when her uncle was babysitting.

Talk about miss independent!

She has even been taking her naps in her panties

(By mistake & I have been lucky so far that there have been no accidents)

Isn't she just too precious!

She fell asleep sitting up and sipping her juice :)

She is so excited that she is a big girl now.

Whenever she goes potty she gets 2 circus animals cookies; 1 white & 1 pink- her favorite.

We are off to the store to stock up on diapers only for Mack. Yay!

We are picking up pull ups for Miss Katelyn.

Yay for only 1 kid in diapers!!!!

To all Mommy's

I have 2 subjects here that I need input on:

Subject #1 Potty Training

I have done it all to try to get Katelyn to potty train. It's all been positive and I have not disciplined when she has had accidents. We have done prizes, candy, stickers, all her favorites & she says she is scared of the toilet. I don't get it! She's 3 for crying out loud & I wanted her to be trained by now. We have a kermit the frog goes potty book that she loves to read, just not on the "pot". We have a toilet seat for her on the "big" toilet and her own individual one too.

Yes, it's easy to say just wait until she is "ready" but seriously how long do 'i have to wait? What will my cut off age be?

Subject #2 Nursing

I have nursed Mack this whole time & hasn't had formula- barely even a bottle (he uses sippy cups for his drinks now). For a few different reasons I want to stop nursing, but I'm an emotional wreck about it.

I think for Mack it's mainly a comfort thing, & I don't think the transition to drinking formula should be too hard- I hope, at least. But it's the comfort thing he will have to adjust to, & I'm scared about that.

So Mack will be 9 months next week. He eats food (baby food, most mostly "real" food now) really well and I usually nurse him 3-4 times a day.

For all the formula Mom's out there how much does you 9month+ baby drink each day?

Mission Potty Training: FAILED

On Wednesday Katelyn was on a mission, she seemed ready & excited to get started.

I explained to Katelyn the whole process.

She would get to wear "big girl" panties, when she went potty on the toilet she would get an animal circus cookie (her FAVORITE), when she went poop on the toilet she would get to pick out a present to open.

(she picked out Tinkerbell wrapping paper for all her gifts)

(She watched Tinkerbell for the 1st time a couple weeks ago & apparently it stuck & it's her new favorite thing :)

She was so excited!

We started that afternoon. She sat up on the toilet with her little kermit the frog "I can go potty" book. She read it several times, but had not luck going potty.

She had 2 accidents in her panties and really didn't seem to mind & I was bummed. I was hoping she would freak out with the feel of it, but no.

Thursday morning she woke up and she refused to sit on the toilet, but we excitedly put on our Tinkerbell panties with hopes to try later. Katelyn refused every time I wanted to have her try to go potty. I told Katelyn that we shouldn't get Tinkerbell & her friends all wet, but she didn't seem to care & Later on in the day when I was getting desperate I threaten that I would take her presents away, but that didn't encourage her to try either.

When the day was over I have 6 soaked Tinkerbell panties and 2 pee spots on the floor and she hadn't sat on the toilet once.

Katelyn was more into her panties and presents and could care less about actually going potty on the toilet.

So I packed every thing up and we will try another day. I think after the summer are the plans right now.

I thought that was going to be easier.
